Wet n Wild MegaLast Lipstick Swatches and Review

Wet n Wild MegaLast Lipsticks in Purty Persimmon, Pinkerbelle and Vamp It Up

OVERALL: 7.75

Packaging: Pretty standard black tube with clear cap. The fault with this packaging is that the lipstick does not fully retract into the tube. 6/10

Longevity: Quite long lasting, fades evenly and leaves a stain on your lips. 8/10

Application: Applied easily and opaquely. Maybe just a smidge of skipping due to the semi-matte finish but really nothing that I found to be problematic. 8/10

Texture: Semi-matte. Slightly creamy. Comfortable. 9/10

Wet n Wild MegaLast Lipsticks in Purty Persimmon, Pinkerbelle and Vamp It Up

Hey there! Today I wanted to bring something to the table that’s ultra affordable, easily accessible  and all around a really nice product, especially at this price point. I recently picked up three shades of Wet n Wild’s MegaLast Lipstick for $2 a pop and I have to say that I’m really surprised with how nice these lipsticks are! The shades that I purchased are Purty Persimmon, Vamp It Up and Pinkerbelle.

I have a pretty serious lipstick addiction and I can’t believe that I haven’t tried out the Wet n Wild MegaLast Lipsticks until now! I guess I just never really thought that a $2 lipstick could rival my other, more expensive lipsticks but I was flat wrong. These lipsticks are seriously pigmented, long lasting and comfortable. I’ll no doubt be picking up more of these…probably a lot more.

The pigmentation in these lipsticks is no joke. They were mostly fully opaque after one swipe and after scrubbing vigorously on my hand with a makeup remover wipe to remove these swatches, the stains are still lingering around many hours later.

They also are surprisingly long lasting! They aren’t going to make it through a full day without needing touched up but they do hold up really well so you won’t need to constantly worry about how your lipstick looks. Even after drinking without a straw, they were still going strong after a few hours. Each of these shades left behind a stain on my lips and faded pretty evenly. Even when they did start to fade, the staining made it look less obvious so they really wore quite well.

The finish is a creamy semi-matte. I actually found it to be very comfortable and quite moisturizing, even after a few hours of wear. I’ve heard that the very light nude shades can be more drying and difficult to work with so keep that in mind. Purty Persimmon, Vamp It Up and Pinkerbelle were just lovely though!

My single gripe with the Wet n Wild MegaLast Lipsticks lied with the packaging. The lipsticks do not fully retract into the tube, leaving about 1/4 of an inch or so sticking out. This makes nicking the lipstick with the cap at some point almost inevitable unless you’re super careful and it’s a problem when both replacing the cap and removing it.

All in all though, I think these are wonderful and the price just makes them all the better! I have a feeling I’m going to end up with a hoard of these soon.

So let’s get to the swatches!

 Purty Persimmon

Purty Persimmon is a gorgeous orange-red that reminds me of MAC’s Lady Danger or NYX’s Indie Flick.

Vamp It Up

Oh yes, Vamp It Up is my new baby and my favorite of the bunch. A very dark, vampy purple that is similar to MAC’s Cyber.

Pinkerbelle

Pinkerbelle is a lovely shade of medium-bright pink with yellow undertones which I adore!

  1. I definitely recommend Cherry Bomb (a dupe for MAC’s Diva) or Sugar Plum Fairy (a dupe for Rebel). Wine Room is another really beautiful shade! Honestly, for $2 you should just try all of them haha

      1. Wet n wild is a brand that’s been around 20 years or more. I used the stuff when I was in high school or just starting college…please don’t ask what year it was…aaaanyway…I used their eyeliner and lip glosses all the time. It makes me wonder how often a very low price point turns me off to a potentially great product…

  2. Have had Vamp It Up and Cherry Bomb for around a year now – my god do I love these lipsticks?!! Been thinking a lot of picking up couple of other shades(mostly Sugar Plum Fairy) but somewhat haven’t gotten to that yet as I have to order most of my stuff online from overseas and I somewhat always find it more exciting to buy new brands/products that I don’t own yet than buying different colors of the same products. I wish that I could just go to the shop and buy such stuff on an impulse :D. My wallet would cry even more, though.

Completely agree with you on the cap thing – it’s damn annoying. And with the it being see through it looks so nasty when it gets stained.

Vamp It Up looks superb on you. Can’t wait to see the other ones!

      1. oh I also forgot to mention that Raivin Raisin looks quite nice, too. Although it’s kind of difficult to say what color it actually is because it looks very different in different swatches. If you’ll feel like picking that one up, I’d love to see how it looks on you, as well. 🙂

    1. Eep, another gorgeous shade! But yeah, the packaging is quite the bummer! I hate messing up my pretty lipsticks. And thank you. 🙂

  3. Recently tried out one of these for the first time and was surprised by how much I liked it! It lasted a pretty long time as well.
