After months of hearing oodles of great things about MAC’s Mineralize Blush ($27) in Warm Soul, I finally decided to bite the bullet and pick up this little gem and I’m glad that I did! I’m not usually a blush junkie and often reach for my BH Cosmetics Glamorous Blush Palette for most of my blush needs but MAC Warm Soul might be converting me because I suddenly feel the urge to run out to my local MAC store and pick up a few more of these beauties.
This particular blush has a lot of good things going for it. The formula is well pigmented and impressively long lasting, keeping your blush looking nice throughout the day. While the formula itself is lovely, the color is what’s really blowing me away. Warm Soul is this incredible warm peachy shade with golden shimmer that would look beautiful on a large variety of skin tones. While the shimmer might look a little heavy on the swatch, I don’t think it makes your face look like a glitter bomb by a long shot. It’s actually a pretty subtle glow once blended onto your cheeks that adds a nice natural looking brightness to your face.
Ever since I saw the first photo of the LORAC Mega PRO Palette floating around on Instagram, I’ve been giddy with excitement! Seriously, I don’t think I was ever as pumped for a makeup release as I was for this palette. Some of you may have noticed that I use my LORAC PRO Palettes 1 & 2 religiously and that’s because I think LORAC eye shadows in general are really lovely. They’re usually well pigmented, have a nice texture and are easy to blend. So when I realized a new 32 shade palette was being released, I sort of lost my cool.
The LORAC Mega PRO Palette ($59) was an online exclusive and was released on October 7th, 2014 at loraccosmetics.com as well as amazon.com. At the time of writing this, both websites are currently out of stock and I’m not sure when, or if at all, there will be more of these palettes available but Amazon has an option to be notified when this palette is back in stock so here’s to hoping that there will be more restocks!
Also, if you were unable to get your hands on this palette, hope isn’t completely lost! In appreciation of all of my amazing followers, I’m hosting a giveaway on Instagram and the prize is the LORAC Mega PRO Palette! Check out full details here.
I recently had the chance to try out several shades of Makeup Geek’s eye shadows and pigments and I’m so glad that I did! Most of these shades are buttery, smooth and well pigmented. I can already see a few of these colors becoming staples in my collection and you can be sure to see them making lots of appearances on my face in the future!
I haven’t actually gotten the chance to wear any of these yet (busy getting ready for vacation!) but these were so gorgeous that I had to make this post to share some swatches and a little mini-review with you all. All these Makeup Geek swatches are over bare skin.
After thinking long and hard about this, I think it’s safe to say that the NYX Matte Lipstick ($6) formula is my favorite lipstick formula ever. That’s a pretty bold statement considering my ever-growing lipstick collection but I think NYX really knocked it out of the park with this formula. Now to share my NYX Matte Lipstick swatches in Sweet Pink, Indie Flick, Euro Trash, Butter and Hippie Chic.

Longevity: Impressive staying power. 8/10

Kat Von D’s Studded Kiss Lipstick line was released recently with 30 gorgeous shades ranging from nudes to bold in-your-face colors. Some of the shades have already made appearances in other Kat Von D products but there are several brand new shades as well. I managed to swing by my local Sephora and pick up 3 of these lipsticks in Gothica (sparkling bronze), Wonderchilde (iridescent neon lilac) and Poe (shimmery navy).
It was so difficult to choose just 3 because there are so many gorgeous colors in this line but I love all 3 shades that I got. These lipsticks come in an stylish and unique studded black case and contain 0.10oz of product. Without further adieu, here come the photos and the Studded Kiss Lipstick swatches!
Edit: Click here to check out swatches of Countess, Agatha, Adora, Sexer, Wonderchilde, Bachelorette, Motorhead, Lovecraft and Hexagram from the Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick set!
I must start out by saying that photos do not do this gorgeous pigment justice! You have to see it in person to get the full effect. After lusting after it for a while, I finally picked this up a few days ago and I adore it.
MAC Blue Brown Pigment has a frost finish and is described as brown with blue/green pearl. It shifts shades causing it to look anywhere from blue, to green to brown depending on the lighting and angle it’s viewed at. Due to the fact it shifts shades, I think MAC Blue Brown is a really easy to use pigment. The shade itself offers a lot of depth making it simple to create a very complete eyeshadow look using it with another color or two or simply on it’s own.
