Hey guys! I recently had the opportunity to try out three new brushes that Makeup Geek released not long ago and I wanted to share my thoughts on these brushes with you! There are some products that I don’t need to test long before I know if I’m going to like them or not but I like to test brushes out for quite a while to see how they perform before I come to a final conclusion on them. I’ve had these new Makeup Geek brushes for a few weeks now and have used each of them many times so I feel like I can finally give you guys a solid review. These brushes are all synthetic and cruelty free so no need to worry about our furry little friends!
Makeup Geek Chiseled Cheek Brush
First up we have the Makeup Geek Chiseled Cheek Brush! This brush is designed to help you perfectly carve out your cheek bones to add depth an definition to your face.
This brush, like all the others, is super soft and feels great on your face.
Here is the Makeup Geek Chiseled Cheek Brush next to a similar Sonia Kashuk brush that I don’t believe is being sold any longer. The Makeup Geek brush is far softer and glides more easily over the skin creating a perfectly smooth line while its Sonia Kashuk counterpart tends to drag a little more and can sometimes leave faint brush lines that are difficult to get rid of completely.
This brush also has a bit of extra room in the ferrule like the Makeup Geek Dual Ended Brow Brush but I honestly don’t really see it as much of an issue in this brush. I feel like the room allows the bristles to sway a little more to create a very smooth, fluid line rather than one super sharp streak down your face.

Hey guys! I did this look for the first time a few weeks ago and decided it was time to get around to making a tutorial for this fresh, summery eyeshadow look! This tutorial is featuring Poppy, one of my all time favorite Makeup Geek shadows. Poppy is an awesome color in general but it’s especially striking on my fellow blue-eyed babes! 😉
Fresh Summer Eyeshadow Tutorial
I always start my eyeshadow routine by first using an oil blotting sheet on and around my lids to remove any excess oil that will mess up my eyeshadow over time, applying my favorite primer, Too Faced Shadow Insurance, and then I dust a small amount of translucent powder over the primer.
Oh, and please try to excuse the pink in my lashes. The new Anastasia Beverly Hills Waterproof Creme colors are no joke! I’ll be making a post on a couple of the new ABH Summer Collection items soon.

I was recently given the opportunity to try out quite a few products from City Color Cosmetics. I’d never heard of City Color Cosmetics before but I decided I’d like to give them a try and see what they’re all about. The product I’m most excited to share with you guys is a few shades from their Be Matte Gems Lipstick ($4.99). I’m a sucker for weird lip colors so these were the first thing that grabbed my attention!
OVERALL REVIEW: 7
Packaging: White plastic tube with clear lid. Lipstick retracts fully into the tube. 6/10
Longevity: Above average although these will need a touch up after eating. 7/10
Application: These sometimes skip over lips and you may need a couple of coats to get them to look perfect. 7/10
Texture: Matte and a little on the drier side. 8/10

I somehow ended up goofing around & missing the chance to do my monthly favorites for February so I decided to just make one video and compile my monthly favorites for both February and March! Also, I meant to include Maybelline’s Daringly Nude lipstick in this video, which happens to be this beautiful nude that I’m wearing here, but it ended up not making it in! Oops. Still, it’s a lovely, budget friendly nude lipstick that I absolutely love!

The LASplash liquid lipsticks are completely rocking my world right now so what better product to do my first video review of than these! Liquid to matte, waterproof and insanely long-wearing; I want every shade!

Heads up, guys! I just got an email that Makeup Geek sent to their registered customers saying that they are offering 10% if you sign up for their newsletter.
All you have to do is sign up for their newsletter by April 11, 2015 and they will mail you a 10% off coupon code that is valid through April 11, 2015 and is good for everything in the store!
Makeup Geek rarely offers discounts on their products and this code is valid store-wide so if you’ve been on the fence about trying Makeup Geek yet or if you just want to stock up on some favorites, now would be a great time!
Makeup Geek has a lot of amazing eyeshadows but a few of my favorites are Peach Smoothie, Chickadee, Poppy, Frappe, Grand Stand and their Liquid Gold pigment.
What are you favorite Makeup Geek products?
Tutorial time again, loves! Trying to keep a balance of video and pictorials for you guys as well as a balance between supa’ bold and supa’ wearable so today’s look is going to be a really wearable, pretty look that’s appropriate for nearly every occasion and is really easy to pull off! I’m planning on my next eyeshadow tutorial being a really colorful, bold look so if that’s more up your alley, just hang in there because the plan is in action. 😉
Let’s begin! Eyeshadow primer is your BFF so go ahead and apply a thin layer of your favorite primer everywhere where your eyeshadow will be. My favorite eyeshadow primer is Too Faced’s Shadow Insurance.
On to the eyeshadow! The first thing I’m going to do is take this big blending brush from Makeup Addiction and apply Makeup Geek’s Peach Smoothie (matte peach) in and above my crease, making sure the edges are nice and soft.
