Hi, guys! I know prom season is coming up super soon so I wanted to make a couple of prom tutorials for you! This is my darker, smokier, more sultry look and my next tutorial will be my softer prom look so keep an eye out! I choose to use the LORAC PRO Palette 2 for this tutorial because it’s a wonderful palette and pretty popular! While I had prom in mind when creating this look, it’s still awesome for tons of other occasions, of course!

Lorac PRO Palette 2 Review

I did a quick post a few days ago with swatches and my first impression and now I’m back with a Lorac PRO Palette 2 review as well as some looks I created with it. If you’d like to see a tutorial using the Lorac PRO Palette 2, you can check it out here!

Overall opinion: Just like with the original Lorac PRO Palette, I’m very glad I bought this palette. The colors are gorgeous, it’s extremely versatile and most of the shadows applied very smoothly and are highly pigmented. A little goes a long way with many of these shades.

The Lorac PRO Palette 2 is now officially a staple in my makeup collection. This palette is so versatile that I can see myself reaching for it often, whether it be for an easy natural look or a full on glam kinda day.

I’ve been using this palette with the Lorac Behind the Scenes primer that was included and I have not been let down! Even with the summer heat and humidity, these shadows have stayed put, stayed vibrant and stayed gorgeous all day.

The mattes – Really nice selection of matte shades. My favorites are Light Brown and Cool Grey because they are so lovely and so easy to work into nearly any look. Light Brown might actually be my favorite eye shadow ever and I just might cry when I hit pan on it. I found a couple of the mattes to be a little difficult to blend, particularly Navy. Navy is a really beautiful color but I found it to be a little difficult to work with. It also stained my eye lids a bit. The Black shade in the Lorac PRO Palette 2 is noticeably softer in hue than the Black shade in the original palette, which can be seen as a plus or minus depending on your style. It definitely comes across as black but if you like your black eyeshadow to be the blackest black available, it might disappoint you. If black intimidates you, you might find this shade more wearable. My one wish was that a matte shade lighter than Buff had been included because when you’re pale and have warm undertones, Buff is not a good highlighting shade.

The shimmers – All of these left me so happy. The shimmer shades were all so smooth, so beautiful and they blend effortlessly. It’s actually really impressive how well they all seem to blend. My favorite shimmer shades are Beige, Rose and Chrome. Beige is a fantastic highlighter shade as well as a pretty all over lid color in natural looks, Rose is a gorgeous rose gold that seems to work beautifully with every other shade in the palette and Chrome is a really unique color somewhere between silver, purple and brown

Here’s a couple of looks that I’ve done using only the eyeshadows in the Lorac PRO Palette 2.

The Lorac PRO Palette 2 is finally here! This palette is an Ulta exclusive and made it’s debut on Ulta.com on June 15th, 2014 and will be available in stores on June 29th, 2014. If you’d like to see a tutorial for the Lorac PRO Palette 2, you can check it out here!

From the moment I heard this palette was going to be released, I knew I had to have it. The original Lorac PRO Palette is probably my favorite eyeshadow palette ever. It’s extremely versatile allowing you to create a range of looks from natural to ultra-glam, the shadows are super pigmented and apply smoothly and because of how pigmented the shadows are, a little goes a long way. I’ve had the original for over a year and have only hit pan on one shade. Because of how much I love the original, I had high hopes for this palette and it didn’t disappoint.

Much like it’s predecessor, the Lorac PRO Palette, the PRO Palette 2 features 8 matte shades, 8 shimmer shades and comes with a mini Behind The Scenes Eye Primer, which I adore. The overall tone of this palette is more cool than the original Lorac PRO Palette.

Since I want to be able to use the palette a few times and try out many of the colors before giving a real review, I’ll just be posting the Lorac PRO Palette 2 swatches and photos today. Once I have a few days to play around with this palette, I’ll post a more in-depth review as well as a few looks that can be created with it.
