If you haven’t yet heard me preaching the wonders of MAC’s Blue Brown pigment, now is the time! I absolutely love this stuff because due to the fact that it’s a duochrome, you can use this one shadow by itself and have a really complete eye look! Just pack it on to your lid, blow it out in the crease and ta-da! A multi-dimensional and complete eyeshadow look with very minimal effort.
Even though this shade is awesome on its own, we’re going to step it up a notch for this eyeshadow tutorial!
Twilight Grunge Eyeshadow Tutorial
You know the drill! As always, I’m going to start by applying my favorite eyeshadow primer, Too Faced’s Shadow Insurance. If you’re prone to oily lids, I’d also recommend using an oil blotting sheet on your lids prior to the primer to absorb any excess oil.
To get started, I’m going to use my finger to pat on a thin layer of NYX’s Eyeshadow Base in Black onto my lid. By starting with a black base on your lid, we’re going to make the duochrome shadow that we’re about to use look even more multi-tonal.
If you don’t have NYX’s Eyeshadow Base in Black, don’t worry! You can use a black eyeliner for this step instead. You wanna make sure that this is an eyeliner that you are able to smudge out though, so I personally would opt for a pencil as gels can be quick drying.
Hi, guys! I know prom season is coming up super soon so I wanted to make a couple of prom tutorials for you! This is my darker, smokier, more sultry look and my next tutorial will be my softer prom look so keep an eye out! I choose to use the LORAC PRO Palette 2 for this tutorial because it’s a wonderful palette and pretty popular! While I had prom in mind when creating this look, it’s still awesome for tons of other occasions, of course!
So clearly I’ve been slacking on keeping up with my 100 days of makeup posts! I’ve actually been slacking a little with doing makeup every single day but shhh! We don’t have to talk about that part. As as it turns out, it’s really hard to do something every single day but I want to kick myself in the butt and get back to the program! My husband started a new job recently which means we’ve been getting up much earlier which means I should have more hours in the day to beat this face from now on! 😛
Anyway, here is one big, gigantic post full of all of the makeup looks I’ve done since my last 100 days of makeup post!
Went for a pretty casual eye using Makeup Geek’s Vanilla Bean, Peach Smoothie, Frappe and Cocoa Bear + Urban Decay’s X and Red Cherry 83 lashes but I couldn’t resist using NYX’s High Voltage in Dirty Talk on my lips! Such an insanely gorgeous shade of brown.
Can you guess who got a big package of Glitter Injections in the mail? This girl! First instinct was to top Limecrime’s Chinchilla lipstick with this gorgeous glitter.
A pretty pinky look in anticipation of Valentine’s day! Used a concoction of shadows from Makeup Geek, Sugarpill, Urban Decay and Too Faced plus more glitter from Glitter Injections! Lashes again are Red Cherry 83’s.
Today we meet Cava, my first ever Bite Beauty product! I picked up this little gem a while ago at the Sephora VIB Rouge holiday event and let me tell you, it was a fantastic choice! Bite Beauty’s Luminous Creme Lipstick in Cava is truly a unique shade and despite my ever growing lipstick collection, I don’t have anything else quite like it. I knew from the beginning that this was a product that I had to review for you guys!
OVERALL REVIEW: 8.25
Packaging: Grey lipstick tube that feels sightly velvety in your hand. The tip of the tube is shaped differently for reds, neutrals, pinks and berries. 8/10
Longevity: Good, especially for a cream lipstick! Expect at least 4 hour, if not more. 9/10
Application: Uber creamy upon application. Glides over lips like butter and is easily opaque. 8/10
Texture: Very creamy and moisturizing with a slightly wet looking finish. 8/10
The Bite Beauty line retails at Sephora and you can purchase the Luminous Creme Lipstick formula for $24. While strolling past the Bite Beauty display at my local Sephora, the stunningly unique Cava caught my eye and I stopped immediately to gawk and swatch it. It was truly gorgeous. But did I want to spend $24 on a single lipstick? I wasn’t so sure about that so I moseyed around for a while thinking on it before deciding that I did in fact need this lipstick. Cava is a beautiful lilac beige shade with slightly grey undertones and there is something about this color that I just adore.
Hey hey! I just wanted to make a quick post sharing pictures of my face of the day from yesterday as well as all of the details!
For the eye look, I’m using Makeup Geek shadows in Peach Smoothie as a transition shade and Last Dance to deepen the outer portion. I’ve got KIKO eyeshadow in 203 on the inner and outer portion of my lid with KIKO 218 in the center of my lid. The pink in the inner corner is Urban Decay’s Hot Pants. I finished it up with House of Lashes Temptress Wispy lashes and a bright red waterline, courtesy of Inglot’s AMC Gel Liner in 79.
Also, this awesome new headpiece of mine is from Bullhorn! I think they’re really lovely and a great way to turn a bad hair day into something fabulous! 😛
The husband and I are heading out to a cabin for a few days on Wednesday so I might be a little MIA for a bit but I am soo pumped for a relaxing few days out in the country! Hope you’re all doing well!
I’m proud to report that I somehow managed not to go nuts with all the Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals and ended up only placing one order! Crazy, huh? 😛 Coastal Scents was offering 50% off of their ENTIRE website. Their stuff is already really affordable, so it was a steal at half off and I just couldn’t pass that up. So without further adieu, I present to you my Coastal Scents Black Friday Haul!
For a grand total of $17, shipping included, I snagged 3 brushes and 4 pots of their glitter powders. My order also came with a 4 shade sampler of the Revealed Palette and a nifty little sticker!
Hey guys! Some of you may have read on here a few weeks ago that I was going to start sharing my monthly favorites with all of you. At that time, I was planning on doing it in blog posts but then I made a YouTube channel and figured “Hey, why not just start with a video?” so that’s what I did! 😛
