Hey guys! I ended up liking the formula of my Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Blue Velvet so much that I decided to add two more shades to my collection, 714 and Celebrity Skin. I’m just going to gloss over the formula here since I’ve already done a more in depth review of Blue Velvet. If you want to see my review of Blue Velvet (and the Jeffree Star Extreme Beauty Tour deets) you can check it out here!
Let’s star with the Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in 714! 714 is an absurdly gorgeous pinkish coral shade that doesn’t really resemble any other shades in my stash. I think it’s a really unique color and am 100% in love with this shade! I did find that it applied a tiny bit patchy at first but I just let it dry, applied another thin coat and it was perfect.
Happy Independence Day to all of my fellow American’s out there!
I just wanted to take a minute to share my 4th of July face with all of you today! I decided to take the red, white & blue route but blue eyeshadow & red lipstick together is a real fine line. In an attempt not to look like an 80’s high school tragedy, I decided to darken up the colors a little by adding neutrals to my blue eyeshadow and choosing a darker red lip.
On my eyes, I’m using my Morphe 35U & 35S palettes, Glitter Injections Out Of This World glitter & Creme 102 lashes.
Also my cute little ring here is the Sophie Harper Pavé X Ring in Silver from Rocksbox! Rocksbox is a designer jewelry subscription box where they send you 3 pieces of jewelry (valued at ~$200) at a time. You can keep it for as long as you like and when you’re done, just send it back and you’ll have three new pieces on the way! You get one piece from your wishlist each month and then they choose two other pieces to suit your style. I think they did a really job awesome at picking out my box & I’m really excited to see what I get next! 🙂
It’s $19 a month after the first month but you also get $10 of that back in Shine Spend each month to put towards the purchase of a piece if you fall in love with one of the items in your box that month!
Use code “suburbiamakeupxoxo” for your first month of Rocksbox free!
How did you guys spend your 4th of July Weekend? I’m still waiting on my husband to get back but today is our last day apart! I can’t wait! 😀
Hi, loves! A couple of weeks ago I was approached & asked to participate in this months German/American Blog Parade hosted by the lovely Isabell of Morgan LeFlay Beauty! The Blog Parade is basically several German and American bloggers coming together to collaborate on a makeup theme and share some love!
June’s theme is Green Summer! Have I ever mentioned that green is my least favorite color? Because it is. 😛 Despite me having a weird relationship with the color green, I figured this would be a great opportunity to push myself to do something that I normally wouldn’t so I was actually kind of jazzed about the theme once I got to thinking about it.
I was recently given the opportunity to try out quite a few products from City Color Cosmetics. I’d never heard of City Color Cosmetics before but I decided I’d like to give them a try and see what they’re all about. The product I’m most excited to share with you guys is a few shades from their Be Matte Gems Lipstick ($4.99). I’m a sucker for weird lip colors so these were the first thing that grabbed my attention!
OVERALL REVIEW: 7

Longevity: Above average although these will need a touch up after eating. 7/10
Application: These sometimes skip over lips and you may need a couple of coats to get them to look perfect. 7/10
Texture: Matte and a little on the drier side. 8/10
Ahh, few things in life make me happier than an awesome deal on awesome makeup. I decided to give my boring doctor’s visit the other day a happy ending by swinging by ULTA to snag some sweet NYX deals!
NYX was buy one, get one half off at Ulta when I went (this happens often so keep an eye out!), plus I had their weekly coupon for $3.50 off $10 (don’t ever go to ULTA and not use this!) and I had $3.00 off with ULTA rewards so I managed to pick up these 4 NYX products for a whopping $13 total! Whoohoo!
So clearly I’ve been slacking on keeping up with my 100 days of makeup posts! I’ve actually been slacking a little with doing makeup every single day but shhh! We don’t have to talk about that part. As as it turns out, it’s really hard to do something every single day but I want to kick myself in the butt and get back to the program! My husband started a new job recently which means we’ve been getting up much earlier which means I should have more hours in the day to beat this face from now on! 😛
Anyway, here is one big, gigantic post full of all of the makeup looks I’ve done since my last 100 days of makeup post!
Went for a pretty casual eye using Makeup Geek’s Vanilla Bean, Peach Smoothie, Frappe and Cocoa Bear + Urban Decay’s X and Red Cherry 83 lashes but I couldn’t resist using NYX’s High Voltage in Dirty Talk on my lips! Such an insanely gorgeous shade of brown.
Can you guess who got a big package of Glitter Injections in the mail? This girl! First instinct was to top Limecrime’s Chinchilla lipstick with this gorgeous glitter.
A pretty pinky look in anticipation of Valentine’s day! Used a concoction of shadows from Makeup Geek, Sugarpill, Urban Decay and Too Faced plus more glitter from Glitter Injections! Lashes again are Red Cherry 83’s.
I recently decided that I’m going to do a 100 Days of Makeup Challenge after seeing people on Instagram and around the web doing different makeup challenges. I’m not following any guidelines or rules, I’m just making myself do makeup every day for 100 consecutive days all while trying to learn as much as possible in that time.
I really want to push myself to improve and this seemed like a great and fun way to do so! I was only wearing makeup 4-5 days a week before this challenge and that left for 2-3 days a week where I’m not practicing and not learning anything! Of course, I don’t always feel like doing a full face every day but even when I don’t do a full face, I still plan on doing some sort of cool eye or lip look so I can get that sweet, sweet practice in! 😉
I know it’s early in the challenge but I already feel like it’s helping me a lot! Not long ago, I really struggled with cut crease looks. I would draw the line and then wipe it off and redraw it three more times before I would get it right and it usually got pretty frustrating. Lately I’ve done a couple of cut crease looks for the challenge and it’s already became pretty easy for me! No wiping off, just a little careful planning after realizing where I was messing up previously and ta-da! Cut crease.
