Over the past couple of months I’ve discovered that budget-friendly beauty brand Wet n Wild has quite a few gems in their product line, including their MegaLast Lipsticks, which I absolutely love.
I’m a sucker and always have to run through the makeup aisles whenever I go to the store so I picked up the Wet N Wild Comfort Zone Palette for about $5 recently during a late night grocery run. 😀
OVERALL REVIEW: 8
Packaging: Clear plastic lid. Reasonably sturdy for the price and snaps securely. 7/10
Longevity: Slight creasing with some darker shades after a full day. 7/10
Application: Well pigmented and easy peasy to blend! 9/10
Texture: Very smooth and soft. 9/10
The Wet N Wild Comfort Zone Palette comes with 8 gorgeous shades that transfer well between day and night time looks. Every shade in this palette has a shimmery finish and while I can definitely appreciate some shimmer, I wish there was at least one matte shade to tone down the glow a little. Each shade in this palette is labeled as “browbone, crease, etc.” and while you can certainly put each shade wherever you wish, people who are new to makeup might appreciate having a clear direction mapped out!

When I first saw that the MAC Nordstrom Naturals Palette ($85) had been released, I tried to convince myself for a full 6 hours or so that I didn’t need this palette before realizing that that was completely insane and running out to Nordstrom half an hour before closing to pick this beauty up! I definitely made the right decision here. 😛
The MAC Nordstrom Naturals Palette is limited edition and exclusive to Nordstrom so if you want to secure one of these, you may want to act quickly!
OVERALL REVIEW: 8.50
Packaging: Fantastic shades that work well together. Sturdy plastic with clear lid makes it easy to see all of your beautiful shades although I’ll never stop wishing for MAC to put shades names on palettes. 8/10
Longevity: All the looks I’ve done with this palette have held up well all day long with a primer. 9/10
Application: Most shades are well pigmented and apply & blend nicely. 9/10
Texture: The majority of the colors in this palette are super smooth although a couple of the mattes are a little dry. 8/10
In this palette, you get 15 nearly full-sized pans of MAC’s best-selling shades! Each of these pans are 1.3g where as the regular MAC pans are 1.5g so you’re only missing the tiniest amount of product compared to a full sized pan. I actually didn’t have any of the shades in this palette so I took that as a sign that this palette was meant to be in my life but whether or not this palette might be “worth it” to you might depend on what MAC eyeshadows you already have hanging around in your stash. If you don’t have most of these shades already, this palette is an awesome deal!
One regular MAC eyeshadow in the case is $16. One MAC refill pan (I think the individual pans are only sold online and at MAC Pro Stores) is $10. $10 per pan x 15 pans = $150 yet this palette is retailing for $85, making it as if each pan only costs about $5.66 each. If you’ve been thinking about expanding your eyeshadow collection, this might be a good time!
This palette is made of a sturdy plastic and has a clear top allowing you to see your shadows. The pans, unfortunately, do not seem to be easily removed from this palette so there’s no switching shades around or replacing them with other pans.
The 15 shades included in the MAC Nordstrom Naturals Eyeshadow Palette are:
- All That Glitters
- Satin Taupe
- Honey Lust
- Amber Lights
- Beauty Marked

Tutorial time again, loves! Trying to keep a balance of video and pictorials for you guys as well as a balance between supa’ bold and supa’ wearable so today’s look is going to be a really wearable, pretty look that’s appropriate for nearly every occasion and is really easy to pull off! I’m planning on my next eyeshadow tutorial being a really colorful, bold look so if that’s more up your alley, just hang in there because the plan is in action. 😉
Let’s begin! Eyeshadow primer is your BFF so go ahead and apply a thin layer of your favorite primer everywhere where your eyeshadow will be. My favorite eyeshadow primer is Too Faced’s Shadow Insurance.
On to the eyeshadow! The first thing I’m going to do is take this big blending brush from Makeup Addiction and apply Makeup Geek’s Peach Smoothie (matte peach) in and above my crease, making sure the edges are nice and soft.

Finding good quality eyeshadows on a budget can be a challenge but lately I’ve been on the hunt for some nice drugstore eyeshadows to share with you guys and Milani is proving to be a good option with their Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadows! These eyeshadow pans come in 30 different shades consisting of satin matte, iridescent and metallic finishes and will run you only about $4 per shade. Not too shabby!
OVERALL REVIEW: 7.75
Packaging: Gold plastic. Easy to open and close, stays shut. Feels sturdy enough so far. 7/10
Longevity: With a primer these eyeshadows held up well and I didn’t have any issues with creasing. 8/10
Application: Super easy to apply and blend, even with fingers. Picks up well on a brush. 9/10
Texture: Soft and very smooth to the touch although I don’t quite understand the gel claim. 7/10
For this look I’m using Milani’s Bella Mandarin, Bella Ivory and the Anastasia Maya Mia Palette topped with Red Cherry #43 lashes. Lips are Wet n Wild’s Megalast Lipstick in Just Peachy with NYX Butter Gloss in Apple Strudel.
I wanted to pick up several more of these shades but unfortunately these two were the only ones I got my hands on. I wish I had been able to buy more to give you guys a better idea of the whole collection but I tried. 😛 I bought them at Meijer and their display was practically empty and many of the pans left behind were broken. The dome of eyeshadow had separated from the packaging and was just kinda hanging out in there, all sad and unattached. I’m not sure if that’s a common problem for these shadows or if someone at Meijer just got a little rough but I still managed to make it out with these two beauties, nonetheless!

I posted not too long ago sharing some of the new NYX Lip products with you guys including the Intense Butter Glosses, High Voltage Lipsticks and Vamped Up Top Coat and now I’m back with some more new NYX products to review for you! NYX is hands down my favorite drugstore brand and they’ve got me all kinds of giddy with their new product releases. 😛
In this photo I’m wearing the NYX Prismatic Shadow in Mermaid on the lower portion of my eyes, as well as in the inner corner, and I’ve smudged some black into my lash line and waterline. The top portion of my eyeshadow is Makeup Geek’s Mirage, Peach Smoothie, Frappe and Sweet Dreams. I’m also wearing the NYX Tame & Frame in Brunette on my brows. My lips are MAC liner in Soar, MAC Please Me lipstick and NYX Butter Gloss in Tiramisu.
NYX Prismatic Shadows
While NYX has tons of products that I completely adore, I hadn’t heard many good things about their previous eyeshadows so I just always chose to avoid them and therefore avoid disappointment but when I saw that they had launched this new line of Prismatic Shadows ($6), I decided it couldn’t hurt to give them a try and chose to order one, a gorgeous mint green shade called Mermaid.

Words cannot describe my love for the Makeup Geek Vegas Lights Palette ($37.99). While this beautiful selection of shades look gorgeous on nearly everyone, I especially love the way the warmth of this palette makes blue eyes pop! I’ve had my eye on this beauty for a while so I was really excited to get a chance to get my paws on it.
OVERALL REVIEW: 9
Packaging: Sturdy, functional and practical. These pans can easily be removed and replaced with different pans which is wildly convenient. 10/10
Longevity: Paired with my usual primer, these eyeshadows still looked great at the end of the day. 9/10
Application: In general, this palette applied like a dream but I found Bada-Bing to be hard to blend. 7/10
Texture: Most of these shades are insanely smooth but Bada-Bing was definitely on the stiffer side. 9/10
Makeup Geek is quickly becoming one of my favorite makeup brands. I love that they make affordable yet high quality products that are easily customizable to suit your own personal preferences.
The Makeup Geek Vegas Lights Palette is no exception here. One of the things that I adore about this palette is the packaging. It’s sturdy cardboard with a mirror that’s actually large enough to see what you’re doing and be useful. All of the pans in this palette are magnetic and easily removable so if you run out of one of these shades or simply want to switch some of these shades out with different eyeshadow pans for travel or whatever other reason, it’s easy breezy to do so. This isn’t something that you often see in pre-assembled eyeshadow palettes so I think it’s nice how buyer friendly this is.
