Sugarpill Burning Heart Palette Tutorial

Hey guys! So I finally got around to creating a tutorial for the look I did in my Sugarpill Burning Heart Palette Review post. Today I’m running on about 2 hours of sleep and ridiculous amounts of caffeine so I consider this a pretty big accomplishment! Let’s just try to excuse any mistakes I make along the way. 😛

Before I get started with any shadow, I’m going to prime and put down a base. I’m using Too Faced’s Shadow Insurance primer and a thin layer of NYX’s White Eyeshadow Base.

The first shadow I’m going to use is Blur (light peachy tan) from the Melt Cosmetics Dark Matter stack. I’m using my Makeup Addiction blending brush to place this in and above my crease, stopping a little under my brow bone to create a very natural looking transition.

Next I’m going in with in with Sugarpill’s Buttercupcake (yellow) and that same brush and basically placing it in the same area only not taking it quite as high this time.

Now I’m taking Sugarpill’s Love + (red) and my Makeup Addiction shader brush and patting this color onto my lid. If you’re using the Sugarpill Burning Heart Palette, Love + (red) might take a little bit to really build up but just keep patting it on there until it looks nice and solid. You’re gonna look a little like a McDonald’s fan girl at this point.

For this step, I’m going to take my MAC 286 brush, dab a little bit of Love + (red) on it and use it to blend out the edges of the red into the yellow.

After that I’m going to grab my Makeup Addiction crease blender brush and use Flamepoint (orange) in my crease to better blend together Love + (red) and Buttercupcake (yellow).

I’ve combined a couple of steps in this picture! First I’ve taken my MAC 217 brush and blended a little bit of Makeup Geek’s Beaches and Cream (slightly pink matte beige) over the shadows that are nearing my brow bone but still not directly under my brow bone, just to make it a tad softer. Then using the same brush, I applied MAC’s Vanilla (light matte beige) eyeshadow and a dab of LORAC’s Opal (shimmery white gold) directly under my brow bone and gently blended that downward.

I’m now going to take my Makeup Addiction detailer brush and run Poison Plum (purple) all along my lower lash line and blend it out with my MAC 287 brush. I’m also using the MAC 287 to run a little bit of Makeup Geek’s Peach Smoothie right below that to soften it a little more.

I’m finishing up this look with winged eyeliner using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Creme Color in Jet, Inglot’s AMC Gel Liner in 79 in my waterline, lashes and a little mascara!

    1. It’s a really awesome palette! I couldn’t get any reds or yellows that I have to hardly show and then I got this palette and boom! Super bright.

  1. I’M IN LOVE WITH THIS. Your eyeliner looks amazing! I’d love to see a tutorial for how you did this eyeliner because it’s FLAWLESS.

  2. Looks beautiful as usual 🙂
Hey Ashley, I’m not on Instagram (but I creep yours lol) and I saw you wanted to know what people wanted to see video wise-and I’m hoping you don’t mind me saying here what I’d love to see, but I would love to see Marsala Pantone palette looks because I snagged the last one in my town bc I saw they were sold out online and I knew you’d make me want it big time (and I loveeeee the color family) and I’d also like to put out a suggestion for your eyeliner! Your wings are always awesome, and I’m always up for a lorac pro 2 palette as well!
I love all your posts and can’t wait for you to make more videos 🙂

    1. Thanks! And I totally don’t mind at all! Thanks for letting me know what you want to see. I’ll keep these ideas in mind for the future! =)

    1. Thank you! And you really do! I feel like there aren’t a lot of great red eyeliners out there but this is definitely one of them. I keep wanting to order more colors from Inglot so badly but I’m trying to control myself. lol And yes, Amira’s whole life is pretty much her being annoyed and majestic. =P

  3. Love the look !! I just buy 287 bruhs but I still don´t know how to use it… I see that you use for under eye color, is that only use ? 🙁 tnx ,Maja

    1. I love it for under my eye but it’s also great for all over color on your lids! And pretty much any way you can dream up to use it. 😉
