MAC Styled in Sepia Swatches

MAC Styled in Sepia ($16) is part of MAC’s new The Matte Lip Collection which was released earlier this month. There are seven other gorgeous matte shades in the collection but Styled in Sepia really caught my eye as a unique color. Brown lipsticks are making a comeback lately and I couldn’t be happier!

MAC Styled in Sepia

Styled in Sepia is a medium-dark brown yet almost taupey shade. It has a matte finish but is still creamy enough to glide across lips without dragging or skipping. It wasn’t overly drying nor was it moisturizing. All in all, it was pretty comfortable to wear and wore well for several hours. I see myself wearing this shade a lot this fall!

Moving on to the swatches!

And then I thought, “Hey, why not add some gold leaf?”

  1. I think it’s beautiful on you, but not a color everyone can pull off! I am generally happy with the returns of brown lip colors though!

Your eye look here is so lovely and perfect for fall. I’d love to do something like this for Thanksgiving, do you remember which Lorac eyeshadows you used?

    1. Thanks! If I remember correctly I used Camel as a transition color, Cream under my brow, Merlot in both the inner and outer corner as well as over into my crease and then Indigo to deepen that on the edges, Sand in the middle of my lid and Copper & Mulberry on my lower lash line.

    1. Hello! I did this look with the LORAC Mega PRO Palette. If I remember correctly I used Camel as a transition color, Cream under my brow, Merlot in both the inner and outer corner as well as over into my crease and then Indigo to deepen that on the edges, Sand in the middle of my lid and Copper & Mulberry on my lower lash line.

  2. I think its a great color for fall! In fact I may run on down to MAC and see how it looks on this old face of mine… We old women look good in neutral tones =P

  3. I was so curious about this shade, wasn’t sure if it was going to be nude or brown. I am so happy with it, looks awesome on you!

  4. After seeing “styled in sepia” on you I had to rush over to my nearest MAC counter to buy it, unfortunately they said it was no longer available because it was some kind of a seasonal color, i dont know, so I searched and searched and finally found it on nordstrom.com. I can’t wait to wear it!!! Im so glad i stumbled across your blog. <3
P.s. you should definitely start a yt channel!

    1. Oh wow, I’m glad you were able to track one down at Nordstrom! I regret not buying multiples. lol And thank you! I’m actually planning on starting a YouTube channel in the not so distant future.
