The Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick Set ($39) made it’s debut in time for the holiday season of 2014 but it’s been so popular that it seems to already be out of stock on www.sephora.com! Fear not, though. I just found this set in store at my local Sephora and they seemed to have plenty around so if you find yourself in dire need of this lipstick set, call your local Sephora’s and check!
Edit 11/1/2014: It seems to be back in stock at sephora.com!
This set contains mini sizes of 9 of the 30 shades in the Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick line. The shades included are:
- Countess (matte bright orange-red)
- Agatha (matte pale peach nude)
- Adora (metallic golden red)
- Sexer (iridescent neon pink)
- Wonderchilde (iridescent neon lilac)
- Bachelorette (matte reddish fuchsia)
- Motorhead (matte black cherry)
- Lovecraft (matte mauve pink nude)
- Hexagram (matte blood red)
I really love the color choices for this set! It offers a lot of variety by including a couple of nudes, a few “classic” shades yet still includes a couple of fun, more daring colors without including several of the shades in this line that many people might considering over the top (i.e. Coven, Slayer, etc.).
Overall, I’m really happy with this set! I
rarely never finish a lipstick so I love that the Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick Set gives me the chance to pick up 9 new, gorgeous shades of lipstick for a good price.
Most of these lipsticks are really nice! In general they seemed to be well pigmented, long lasting and opaque or at least easily buildable. The formulas were also quite comfortable and easy to wear. The vast majority of these shades also left a stain on my lips which is useful as it helps your lip color look better longer. A couple shades missed the mark for me though but we’ll get to that soon.
Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick Swatches
A gorgeous and well pigmented matte orange-red that reminds me of MAC’s Lady Danger.
I had heard several people say that they didn’t like the way Agatha looked on them so my hopes weren’t high when I tried this on but that quickly changed. I actually think it’s a really gorgeous pale nude! It’s a pretty light shade but I don’t think it looks too jarring against my fair skin.
Really love this shade! A gorgeous metallic red that I don’t have anything similar to in my whole lipstick hoard. I’m usually not a fan of metallics in general but Adora is changing my mind.
A bright pink that reminds me of MAC’s Candy Yum Yum except instead of Candy Yum Yum’s matte texture, Sexer has a stunning iridescent finish. Truly stunning!
A unique iridescent lilac that just seems to glow! I’m not sure what the deal was with this swatch but it looked awfully patchy, no matter how much I tried to get it to be smooth. The weird thing is my full sized Wonderchilde has never seemed to do this when I used it in the past.
A really gorgeous, rich berry shade.
Not as dark as it looks in the tube. Motorhead kind of left me sad. The color is incredible but the formula is questionable. No matter what I tried, this shade ended up a little patchy. It wasn’t awful but it wasn’t good either. Next time I’ll try it with a primer and cross my fingers for better results!
A really pretty mauvey shade. Looks natural yet still noticeable.
A classic blue based red.
Have you picked up any of the Studded Kiss Lipsticks yet? What shade do you like best? I love them all too much to be able to pick favorites this time!
