Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick Review in Cava

Today we meet Cava, my first ever Bite Beauty product! I picked up this little gem a while ago at the Sephora VIB Rouge holiday event and let me tell you, it was a fantastic choice! Bite Beauty’s Luminous Creme Lipstick in Cava is truly a unique shade and despite my ever growing lipstick collection, I don’t have anything else quite like it. I knew from the beginning that this was a product that I had to review for you guys!

Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick in Cava

Packaging: Grey lipstick tube that feels sightly velvety in your hand. The tip of the tube is shaped differently for reds, neutrals, pinks and berries. 8/10

Longevity: Good, especially for a cream lipstick! Expect at least 4 hour, if not more. 9/10

Application: Uber creamy upon application. Glides over lips like butter and is easily opaque.  8/10

Texture: Very creamy and moisturizing with a slightly wet looking finish. 8/10

The Bite Beauty line retails at Sephora and you can purchase the Luminous Creme Lipstick formula for $24. While strolling past the Bite Beauty display at my local Sephora, the stunningly unique Cava caught my eye and I stopped immediately to gawk and swatch it. It was truly gorgeous. But did I want to spend $24 on a single lipstick? I wasn’t so sure about that so I moseyed around for a while thinking on it before deciding that I did in fact need this lipstick. Cava is a beautiful lilac beige shade with slightly grey undertones and there is something about this color that I just adore.

So what about the formula? One thing that I immediately noticed with this lipstick is that there is no scent or fragrance, which seems rare lately. Fragrance doesn’t bother me but for those that are bothered by it, this could be a great option! At first you get that slightly waxy taste of the lipstick itself but that quickly fades away to nothing.  The Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipsticks, as the name suggests, feel amazingly creamy and light upon application and that creaminess lasts for a decent amount of time. After approximately 3-4 hours my lips do start getting a little dry with this product but that’s easily remedied by reapplying. The finish is very creamy and almost slightly wet looking. I dig it!

The color lasts a surprisingly long time, especially for such a creamy lipstick. When it comes to lighter colors like this, I never really expect them to last well but every time I would check on Cava, it would surprise me by still being very much there! I’d say you can expect a solid 4 hours or more of wear with this shade.

On to the swatches of Bite Beauty’s beautiful Cava!

The first photo of Cava on my lips was only Cava but for today’s look, I decided to pair it with MAC’s lip pencil in Soar. For the rest of this look I used my Anastasia Contour Kit and Brow Powder Duo, the Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette, Sugarpill’s Burning Heart Palette, Lit Cosmetics True Romance glitter, House of Lashes Siren lashes and Sigma’s blush in Heavenly.

And here’s a bonus eye picture because I was pretty pleased with my eye makeup today! 😛

So have you guys tried any products from Bite Beauty yet? What are your thoughts on Cava’s unique color?

  1. Once you go Bite, you never go back, trust me! My first was their Deconstructed Rose Lipstick in Centifolia and I fell in love. Bought two of their High Pigment Pencils, Chablis and Tannin, over the holidays, and Wednesday I just bought the first in their collection of Lip Lab Limited Release Crème Deluxe Lipsticks. If you like Bite, keep an eye on those, one per month being released on the first Wednesday of every month! A bit more expensive than normal due to the formula, but I could not resist this first shade, a deep burgundy color that they showed a ~divine swatch of on their Instagram. Can’t wait to review it, I have an utter weakness for lipsticks.

    1. Whew, I keep hearing about their limited release batches and they’re making my heart flutter a little! haha I missed out on the first one but I’m definitely going to be keeping my eyes open in the future. I’m gonna be keeping an eye out for your review!

      1. It gets here on Monday, so hopefully I can get the review up Tuesday or Wednesday! Also, pro-tip for the releases, since Sephora never announces what time they release anything ever: I was able to access it shortly before 11am my time, which would be 9am PST, which makes sense because Sephora operates on PST and that would be the start of a normal workday for them. Best of luck nabbing one you want! I can’t wait to see what color they release for my birthday month, March 😀

  2. Oh my… I like this a lot. I’ve thus far resisted Bite Beauty’s lipsticks. I do have the Agave lip mask though but my boyfriend has almost completely taken it over haha. He has terrible terrible chapped lips and even with the cold NC weather happened they’ve never looked better.

    1. How long do you think you’ll manage to keep that up? =P And oh, I haven’t even heard of that before but it sounds magical! Rosebud Salve is my savior when it comes to dry lips. I buy my 2nd one months before I’m ever finished with my current one because I have a real fear of running out. haha

  3. That is a beautiful color. It reminds me a bit of the Burt’s Bees matte lip crayon in Sedona Sands, but this is a bit cooler and a bit darker. I have one Bite lipstick — a gift someone gave me — and love it. It feels great and is such a pretty color. I love your eyeshadow look, too. It really makes your eyes pop.

    1. Thank you! And Sedona Sands looks like such a lovely color! Have you tried the Matte Lip Crayon yet? I haven’t but now I’m tempted.

      1. You mean the Burt’s Bees matte lip crayons? Yes, I’ve tried three — Sedona Sands, Redwood Forest and Napa Valley. I love all three. Napa feels a bit dry, with some tug, but it’s gorgeous. The other two I love, too. Good staying power, and pretty color.

  4. I have NOT seen a better makeup artist than u…….u always make me go wooooow…….you will go places girl….love ya

  5. Oh man, I have been eyeing this one for a while… It looks wonderful on you!
I think I need it now that you have it 😛

  6. Cava is very pretty and it goes very well with the rest of your makeup! I saw someone else’s comment about the Burt’s Bee’s crayons and I have to say I’m really happy with them – I have Napa Vineyard, the only red (I think?) in the collection. It applied really easily and even managed to last through a messy seafood dinner 😀

  7. Oh. My. Gosh. I have to have this shade! It’s gorgeous and looks great on you! I’m obsessed with Bite’s Agave Mask (as well as the two shades it comes in) and I’ve been meaning to try their lipsticks, but haven’t gotten around to it. Now I’m definitely going to Sephora tomorrow to pick this one up.

  8. Ohhhh that is a gorgeous color! I have a few of their products and I agree they last nicely. I have”quince” and “Barolo” and I’m very happy with both of them. It’s great to have you back!!! 🙂

    1. Hm, it’s definitely a little light and grey so while it’d certainly look at different on you, I think it might look really neat in a vampy, almost corpsy, sort of way. I feel like it might give you a similar effect that NYX Butter gives me. It washes me out a little and makes me look a little frigid or something but in a way that I really like! =P
