Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Swatches

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Comparison

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow PomadeΒ ($18) is my holy grail eyebrow product and I use it virtually every single day. Even through sweating, swimming and my oily face, I know that Dipbrow is going to come through for me! The smudge resistant and water-proof formula provides some serious staying power and when I wear it I can be sure that my brows are going to look fabulous until I remove them with makeup remover. Some water-proof makeup formulas can be very difficult to remove, even with water-proof makeup remover, but despite it’s impressive longevity, Dipbrow removes easily with regular ole makeup remover.

Okay, okay, I feel like I’m kind of rambling here but I don’t have many products that I consider a holy grail so I get a little excited when we get on the topic of Dipbrow. It’s a great product and very versatile but I do feel like there is a little bit of a learning curve if you aren’t used to gel/cream brow products. I know the first time or two that I used it it turned out to be a hot mess but after a little practice it becomes really easy to create your perfect eyebrow. I actually have a Dipbrow tutorial here, if you’d like to take a look at how I use this product.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Soft Brown, Medium Brown & Dark Brown

The shades that I own are Soft Brown, Medium Brown & Dark Brown. Soft Brown is the warmest shade of the bunch and is rather light in color, as you might expect. Dark Brown also leans a little on the warm side. I was using Dark Brown for months and found that it suited me quite well. It wasn’t until I received Soft Brown and Medium Brown to try out that I realized that I actually prefer Medium Brown on myself, especially now that I’ve dyed my hair purple, since it is a more cool, almost taupey color.

  1. Where were you a few days ago I needed this blog when I was deciding which of the browns to switch to. I ended up going with medium brown but still this woulda helped me a lot

  2. I love how subtle the differences are. I think even though I have reddish hair, medium brown would be the best match, as my brows are naturally quite ashy.

  3. I’ve been avoiding buying it because I was worried about picking up the ‘right’ shade. But if it’s this nuanced… I think I can spare the $18 if I pick one that’s not ‘perfect’.
    Thanks for the brow swatches!

  4. I was just in Sephora yesterday and they used Soft Brown on me, which is what I ended up buying but I think I have to return it for Medium Brown. My hair is very dark, except for my pink dipped ends, and I tan very easily and I’m usually pretty tan, living on Maui.

The brow kit I’ve been using and loving is Sorme Brow Style in Deep Brown. That kit is very easy (and forgiving), lol. I think the Dipbrow is just too light for me. I think I’ll go back to Sephora with my brows done and switch out the Soft Brown for a darker shade. I’m so bummed too, cos I didn’t trust my instincts and just went with what she tried on my face. Ugh.

    1. That’s a bummer that Soft Brown didn’t work for you but Sephora has a pretty generous return policy so I’m sure it’ll be easy to swap it out. I hope Medium Brown turns out to be perfect!

  5. Hi! I left a comment on your IG as well, but decide to check out your blog. πŸ™‚ I have kind of blondish-red eyebrows with red hair. I don’t want it to be a dramatic change, so I thought about trying maybe the light color out…? But I’m nervous… Lol I’m 25 years old & just now dabbling in plucking my own eyebrows(which I love now), wearing more make-up, & looking up tips & tricks. So I am open for any help! My sister is 14 & does her make up better than me πŸ™ lol sad, but true & I’m ready to learn! Thanks for your time. <3AB

    1. Sorry if I missed your IG comment! It’s so difficult to tell these things without seeing pictures but it sounds like Soft Brown or Auburn might be a good match for you. And don’t be nervous! Better late than never, after all. Learning how to apply makeup properly can be hard in the beginning but I think it’s so worth it! And don’t get discouraged when things don’t go exactly like you want them to. Practice makes perfect stick with it! πŸ˜‰

  6. Thanks for the swatches! Ive been stuck on which colour to choose…but definitely medium brown for me! making a sephora trip asap πŸ™‚

  7. I stumbled across this whIle trying to find my perfect match as I live in NZ and my only way of buying it is off beautybay which never has all the shades in stock.. I have light dark blonde- light brown hair and I cannot decide what shade to get.. any help would be appreciated

  8. Hey my hair’s medium to dark brown but my brows are naturally extremely light and i know for sure that chocolate and dark brown would be far too dark. However, i’m stuck with what shade to for since my brows are light but ashy toned. Loved this post btw πŸ™‚

    1. Do you have a Sephora or Ulta near by? You could always stop in and swatch them or always or even have an employee try some shades out on you!

    2. I think medium brown would work for you. My hair and brows are the same as yours and i use medium brown πŸ™‚

  9. I’m torn between getting the soft brown or medium brown. I feel as though the soft brown would be too red as my hair is more of a blonde brown than an auburn brown. I’m so stuck 😩
