Blog Parade! Theme: Green Summer!

Hi, loves! A couple of weeks ago I was approached & asked to participate in this months German/American Blog Parade hosted by the lovely Isabell of Morgan LeFlay Beauty! The Blog Parade is basically several German and American bloggers coming together to collaborate on a makeup theme and share some love!

Green Glittery Eyeshadow

June’s theme is Green Summer! Have I ever mentioned that green is my least favorite color? Because it is. ūüėõ Despite me having a weird relationship with the color green, I figured this would be a great opportunity to push myself to do something that I normally wouldn’t so I was actually kind of jazzed about the theme once I got to thinking about it.

So I present to you, green glitter halo eyes!

The SoLa Look iGracias Palette Review

Hey guys! I was recently given the opportunity to try out the iGracias Palette from The SoLa Look and wanted to share my thoughts and review with you all.

The SoLa Look iGracias Palette

The SoLa Look says that the iGracias Palette is their way of saying thanks to all of the Instagram artists who’ve shown them love and the outside of the palette¬†sports the¬†names of dozens of Instagram artists who’ve been supporting The SoLa Look. If anyone is wondering, no, I’m not on there! ūüėõ

The 4 ¬†neutral shades in the SoLa Look iGracias palette are basically fool proof! The shades all go beautifully together¬†and also blend really well.¬†Anyway you wear these colors, they’re probably going to look good! I do wish that one of the shades was a matte but it’s a lovely palette, nonetheless.

In addition to these eyeshadows being easily blendable, they also have several other great qualities! When using these I literally had like zero fallout and the shades are buttery smooth and super well pigmented. Anaya was very slightly drier and less pigmented than the others initially but builds up really well.

These eyeshadows are also huge! They are a whopping .14oz whereas Sugarpill eyeshadows are .12oz and MAC eyeshadows are .04oz so this palette is going to be going strong for a long time. Due to the huge size of the pans and the neutral color choices, this palette would make a great everyday eyeshadow palette.

Jeffree Star’s Liquid Lipstick in Blue Velvet and Extreme Beauty Tour Update!

So as some of you probably know, I recently went to the Jeffree Star Extreme Beauty Tour in Detroit and as promised, I’m back with an update!

I’ve got to start off by saying it was an all around amazing experience from start to finish! We had some extra time to kill in Detroit so we went out for delicious food and drinks, did a little sight seeing and even found an amazing little “beach” area downtown! Now we all know Detroit has a pretty bad rep and I only stayed in one specific area of the city the whole time but I loved what I saw! Cute and delicious restaurants and bars around every corner, the area was super clean and beautiful and seriously like every single person we spoke to was incredibly & unusually nice!

So let’s get on to the class!

Jeffree Star’s Extreme Beauty Tour

Jeffree himself was super amazing! He was so friendly, chatty and personable, encouraged us all to ask him questions or offer each other suggestions, answered each question someone had, and did a great job at not only explaining each step he was doing on the model but also the products he was using and why he was using each product for each specific step. He also gave suggestions personalized product suggestions to people throughout the whole class. All in all, very informative!

It was a 4 hour class with a break 2 hours in with snacks and refreshments. The class was pretty small, probably 30-40 people so it was really intimate and nice. Jeffree did a full face demo on his model including her base, eyes, lashes, lips, contouring, the whole shebang! He even made her cry glitter. ūüėõ

Jeffree working his magic on his beautiful model!

Obviously you’re going to need Sugarpill on the Extreme Beauty Tour.

Jeffree Star’s Extreme Beauty Tour

Guys and gals, I am going to Jeffree Star’s Extreme Beauty Tour this weekend in Detroit and I seriously can hardly contain my excitement!

This will be my first ever makeup related event that I’ve attended, my first time in Detroit and best of all, I will be graced with the presence of Jeffree Star himself! Swooon.¬†

I found out about his Ohio tour date literally like two days after it was over and was slightly heartbroken until I realized that Detroit still had spots open. So naturally I texted my babe @crcosmetics¬†& was like “WE HAVE TO GO TO DETROIT!” Both of our hubbies are going to be accompanying us on the trip so we’re just going to make a fun little weekend road trip out of it.

OFRA Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick Review and Swatches

OFRA Cosmetics liquid lipsticks

I recently had the opportunity to try out a bunch of goodies from OFRA Cosmetics for the first time and being the lipstick junkie that I am, these liquid lipsticks are what I wanted to share & review for you guys first!

OVERALL REVIEW: 7.5

Packaging: The packaging is inconsistent and feels a bit haphazard.  5/10

Longevity: As they claim, these are definitely long wearing yet will need a touch up after eating. 8/10

Application: Two of the shades applied with zero trouble, one shade requires a little working with. 7/10

Texture: Matte yet creamy and slightly tacky to the touch. 9/10

OFRA Cosmetics describes their liquid lipsticks ($19.90) as “One step full lip color that does not feather. These vibrant colors will give you a vivacious look. They are creamy and soft in texture, moisturizing the lips and creating a long lasting lipstick effect. All shades contain antioxidants and Vitamin E while the formula provides a lightweight layer of lasting color to make you feel fresh all day. Color will last in a perfect condition up to five hours without eating or drinking.” and I’ve found that all of that remains true!¬†

I found that these lipsticks feel very comfortable and even moisturizing on the lips with no feeling of tightness, even after hours of wear. I just feel like I’m wearing a light layer of lip balm. Because of how nice and moisturizing they are, they also feel slightly tacky to the touch, even after they’ve set.

One thing that I think is really important to mention here is that the OFRA Cosmetics liquid lipsticks are not¬†transfer proof. If you touch your lips against something, they will likely leave a mark. I found this to be a little surprising since most liquid lipsticks I’ve tried are very resistant to transfer. Despite this, these lipsticks really do wear very, very well! Like the website claims, they will last perfectly for approximately 5 hours without eating or drinking. I’ve actually found that drinking doesn’t seem to disrupt them much but they will fade a bit after eating.

The packaging is the one thing about this product that I found to be pretty disappointing. Two of my shades were in the same packaging while the third shade was in a shorter, yet wider tube. The shorter tube also had a slightly different logo that was facing a different direction. The logos are also simply just stickers instead of actually being printed on the tube. All of this together just made the packaging come across a bit haphazard to me.  This is all just an issue of aesthetics though as the packaging does its job perfectly well and has an easy to use doe-foot applicator.

Both Laguna Beach and Hollywood applied perfectly with one easy coat although Bondi Beach took a little working with for it to live up to its full potential. Bondi Beach needs two coats to really look its best or else it can appear a little patchy. I just apply my first layer, wait a minute or two so it has a little time to set, apply the second layer and ta-da! Stunning opaque blue.
