Hey guys! So I finally got around to creating a tutorial for the look I did in my Sugarpill Burning Heart Palette Review post. Today I’m running on about 2 hours of sleep and ridiculous amounts of caffeine so I consider this a pretty big accomplishment! Let’s just try to excuse any mistakes I make along the way. 😛
Before I get started with any shadow, I’m going to prime and put down a base. I’m using Too Faced’s Shadow Insurance primer and a thin layer of NYX’s White Eyeshadow Base.
The first shadow I’m going to use is Blur (light peachy tan) from the Melt Cosmetics Dark Matter stack. I’m using my Makeup Addiction blending brush to place this in and above my crease, stopping a little under my brow bone to create a very natural looking transition.
Next I’m going in with in with Sugarpill’s Buttercupcake (yellow) and that same brush and basically placing it in the same area only not taking it quite as high this time.

Hey guys! Sorry that I haven’t been posting lately but life has kept me soo busy! We’re considering moving so I’ve been on this mad dash trying to find a good apartment in time and I haven’t had much time to dedicate to my blog recently but I’ve got big plans for the future and all of this craziness should be over very soon! 😉
I know that not all of you follow me on Instagram so I figured I’d make a quick post showing you some of my recent looks as well as the details for them.
For the natural part of this eyeshadow look, I used Makeup Geek’s Peach Smoothie, Beaches and Cream, Taupe Notch, Purely Naked and Sweet Dreams & the green is from my Coastal Scents 252 Palette. This white liner is Stila’s Stay All Day in Snow. It looks super cool but I wouldn’t really recommend it. It’s hard to get opaque. I really need to break and order a good white liner! I’m also wearing Make Up For Ever’s Rouge Artist Intense in #50 on my lips.
This eyeshadow look was done with the Sephora Facets of Marsala Palette which I ADORE! The color choices in this palette are just blowing my mind since I’m a total sucker for reds and warm shades in general. Overall, I really love the Facets of Marsala Palette but certain shades have some serious fallout issues so you’ll probably want to do your eyes first with this! It appears to be sold out online but your local store might still have a few around! 😉
I’m wearing NYX Cosmetics Euro Trash on my lips and House of Lashes Temptress Wispy lashes.

Kaplan MD is a luxury beauty and skincare company that will soon be making a debut at Sephora. I hadn’t heard of Kaplan MD before so when they contacted me with an offer to try one of their products, I was really excited to give it a shot and relay my thoughts to all of you!
The Kaplan MD Perfect Pout Duo contains both their Lip 20 Mask (9.5g) and their Lip 20 Balm (5g) and it will be retailing as a Sephora exclusive for $23. I was told that they would be launching at Sephora this month although I’m not certain on the exact date so keep an eye out!
This set boasts that it plumps lips instantly, exfoliates and smooths fine lines with papaya enzymes, hydrates and nourishes with 22 organic extracts and hyaluronic acid as well as protects against sun damage with SPF 20.
If I’m not wearing lipstick, I’m always wearing lip balm so to test out the Perfect Pout set, I made myself go several hours without my lip balm before hand so I could really see what this set was all about.
- Step 1 – Start with dry, unhappy lips.
- Step 2 – Apply a generous layer of the Lip 20 Mask to the entire lip area as well as the area around your lips. Wait about 5 minutes. Within that time, most of the Lip 20 Mask will adsorb into your skin but you may wipe off any excess with a tissue. I also experience a tingling and cooling sensation during this step, presumably the plumping action doing its job. The sensation was mild and pleasant though.
- Step 3 – Apply the Lip 20 Balm to seal in hydration and protect with SPF.
- Step 4 – Enjoy your new insanely soft and kissable lips! 😛

EDIT: My complaints about the red shade are no more! After a few reader suggestions I contacted Sugarpill with the issue and they determined the palette was defective and exchanged it at no cost to me! They were also super nice and friendly so A++ for their customer service. My Love+ is now amazing!
The Sugarpill Burning Heart Palette is my first, and long overdue, palette from Sugarpill. After listening to my complaints about not having a decent red or yellow, my lovely husband got me this palette for Christmas and I am so so happy to have it in my collection! So let’s get right into the review of this super colorful palette!
OVERALL REVIEW: 7.75
Packaging: Very cutesy so if you’re into cutesy, you’re gonna love it! Has an included mirror & is made of reasonably sturdy feeling cardboard. 7/10
Longevity: Super long lasting yet some colors may stain your skin, namely Poison Plum. 8/10
Application: These colors mostly apply and blend very well, but Love + took some building up. 7/10
Texture: Most shades are perfectly smooth with very minimal fallout. 9/10
Oh, Sugarpill! A cruelty-free brand known for their cutesy marketing, insanely bright & unique colors and over the top makeup. AKA, all the things I adore.
You can pick up the ever lovely Burning Heart Palette for $34, which includes the shades Flamepoint, Buttercupcake, Love + & Poison Plum. Each of the 4 pans contains 0.12oz of product which is really quite large, more than double the size of a MAC eyeshadow pan!

Today we meet Cava, my first ever Bite Beauty product! I picked up this little gem a while ago at the Sephora VIB Rouge holiday event and let me tell you, it was a fantastic choice! Bite Beauty’s Luminous Creme Lipstick in Cava is truly a unique shade and despite my ever growing lipstick collection, I don’t have anything else quite like it. I knew from the beginning that this was a product that I had to review for you guys!
OVERALL REVIEW: 8.25
Packaging: Grey lipstick tube that feels sightly velvety in your hand. The tip of the tube is shaped differently for reds, neutrals, pinks and berries. 8/10
Longevity: Good, especially for a cream lipstick! Expect at least 4 hour, if not more. 9/10
Application: Uber creamy upon application. Glides over lips like butter and is easily opaque. 8/10
Texture: Very creamy and moisturizing with a slightly wet looking finish. 8/10
The Bite Beauty line retails at Sephora and you can purchase the Luminous Creme Lipstick formula for $24. While strolling past the Bite Beauty display at my local Sephora, the stunningly unique Cava caught my eye and I stopped immediately to gawk and swatch it. It was truly gorgeous. But did I want to spend $24 on a single lipstick? I wasn’t so sure about that so I moseyed around for a while thinking on it before deciding that I did in fact need this lipstick. Cava is a beautiful lilac beige shade with slightly grey undertones and there is something about this color that I just adore.

Hey guys and gals! So as you probably noticed, I took a rather long holiday break to relax and enjoy time with my family and let me tell you, it was amazing! But I can’t spend the rest of my life lounging about and cuddling my fur babies so my break is officially over and I’m back to being a productive, makeup obsessed human being. 😛 While my break was much needed and much appreciated it, I am also really excited to be back! I’ve missed blogging, chatting with all of you and wearing copious amounts of makeup on a near daily basis. So yeah, I’m back full force now and ready to make 2015 a fantastic year!
Moving on to the good stuff, the Melt Cosmetics Dark Matter review!
OVERALL REVIEW: 8
Packaging: I think the stack is a pretty cool idea. It’s really unique and I like that but other than being aesthetically pleasing, it doesn’t offer any real advantages. Still neat. 9/10
Longevity: Wore well throughout the day with a primer. A tiny bit of creasing in my crease but really pretty minimal. 8/10
Application: Applies and blends well. Not the best blending eyeshadow I’ve ever seen but still good. 8/10
Texture: A couple shades were a little more powdery than I would have liked but still not a big deal. 7/10
Melt Cosmetics, a company known for their amazing and unique lipsticks, blew all of our minds when they announced that they would soon be introducing their own line of eyeshadows. Naturally when they released these on the 2nd, I couldn’t resist the urge to pick up Dark Matter, one of the two stacks that they’re offering.
Melt Cosmetics Dark Matter and their other stack, Love Sick, are being sold at meltcosmetics.com for $48 each. At first, the price seemed pretty excessive to me for 4 shades of eyeshadow but once you see how big these are, you may think differently!
