The NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadows ($29) come in 12 gorgeous shades that are meant to be used both wet and dry. Applying them dry will give you a softer wash of color while applying them wet will give you a very high impact and really stunning almost metallic finish. Even when dry though, Callisto was easily buildable to a more opaque end result.
To get the most dramatic finish from the NARS Dual Intensity eyeshadows, simply use a brush damped with water (not soaking wet) and pat the eyeshadow into place, blending out the edges.
Callisto is a beautiful cool icy pink shade that almost leans a little pewter. The eyeshadow was really smooth and creamy, well pigmented, blended easily and literally still looked perfect at the end of the day when paired with my favorite primer, Too Faced Shadow Insurance.
Okay, okay. So I kind of made a mistake here. 😛 While Callisto is a beautiful color, it wasn’t the color I was originally trying to get! I picked this shade up about 3 weeks ago at the Sephora VIB Rouge Event and it had been sitting around unused until very recently. When I first swatched it I was like “Hmm, this isn’t the color I remember…” but I chalked it up to poor memory and different lighting. But after I used it and was sitting here putting this post together I was like “Nope, this just isn’t right.” and guess what? Turns out I totally grabbed the wrong shade! The shade I meant to get was Cassiopeia which is an iridescent pink. Soo I had to march back to Sephora to get the correct shade. I mean, the colors and names are both vaguely similar. Could have happened to anyone! 😉
