Hey hey! I just wanted to make a quick post sharing pictures of my face of the day from yesterday as well as all of the details!
For the eye look, I’m using Makeup Geek shadows in Peach Smoothie as a transition shade and Last Dance to deepen the outer portion. I’ve got KIKO eyeshadow in 203 on the inner and outer portion of my lid with KIKO 218 in the center of my lid. The pink in the inner corner is Urban Decay’s Hot Pants. I finished it up with House of Lashes Temptress Wispy lashes and a bright red waterline, courtesy of Inglot’s AMC Gel Liner in 79.
Also, this awesome new headpiece of mine is from Bullhorn! I think they’re really lovely and a great way to turn a bad hair day into something fabulous! 😛
The husband and I are heading out to a cabin for a few days on Wednesday so I might be a little MIA for a bit but I am soo pumped for a relaxing few days out in the country! Hope you’re all doing well!
Today I want to share with you another top-notch drug store product, Maybelline’s Color Elixir Lip Colors ($7)! I originally picked up three of these a couple of months ago and ended up loving them so much that I recently bought two more shades. Now that I have my own little rainbow of these amazing lip colors, I thought it was time to share my Maybelline Color Elixir review and swatches with you guys!
OVERALL REVIEW: 8.5
Packaging: Clear tube that looks like a lipstick bullet is encased inside which I think is pretty cute. The top screws on and stays put. 9/10
Longevity: Lasts well for a gloss, even hanging around while eating and drinking. 7/10
Application: Easy to apply with the slanted and tapered doe-foot applicator. 9/10
Texture: Silky and slightly tacky without being overly sticky. 9/10
So clearly I don’t have many negative things to say about Maybelline’s Color Elixir Lip Colors! These babies have a lot of strong points and are definitely one of my favorite lip gloss formulas.
These are some super pigmented glosses which is one of the reasons why I love them so much! Unlike many glosses which just give you a slight tint, these glosses give you full on color. They’re great on their own and some shades pack a real punch but they’re also really fantastic to layer over lipsticks to add shine and/or alter the color.
Another great thing about the Maybelline Color Elixirs is that they have a pretty impressive wear time for a gloss. This is not an all day lip color but they generally last between 2-6 hours, more towards the latter if you aren’t eating or drinking without a straw though. However even with eating, there’s no real need to panic about how your lip color looks as these do stick around pretty damn well.
The formula of these is also really nice! They feel silky and only slightly tacky on the lips. I can’t stand when glosses are so sticky that they make my lips feel like I’ve slathered them in honey or something but these are really pleasant, light and comfortable to wear. These are also quite moisturizing and I never feel like my lips are drying out. Quite the opposite, in fact!
They do have a scent/fragrance though so be warned if you’re sensitive to such things. It’s difficult to describe but it’s almost like a vanilla spice with something a little…perfumey in there. I don’t find it to be too over powering though.
These come with a slanted and slightly tapered doe-foot applicator that makes applying them precisely a breeze.
Recently my long time friend and fellow makeup addict @crcosmetics and I teamed up for this winter makeup collaboration, AKA my first collab ever! 😛
We wanted to do something Ice Queen/Winter Wonderland inspired and this is what I came up with.
For this look I started with a base of Mehron’s Clown White and a some blues from the Makeup For Ever Flash Palette. I used several different shadows/blushes for the pinks and blues you see everywhere and I also used a few different lip products for this look. To get the white eyelashes, I rubbed Clown White into a pair of falsies before applying them. My brows and the gems on my forehead came from a craft store.
I’ve got a big day of blogging planned and lots of photos to take so time to hop to! Hope you guys are staying warm! 😉
Hey guys! I was rambling on about my love for my NYX Eyeshadow Base in White in a post a few days ago and that’s when it occurred to me that I love this product soo much that it totally deserves its own post and review.
OVERALL REVIEW: 8.5
Packaging: Comes in a small round container with a twist on lid. It’s a little bit of a bother to get your fingers in there, especially if you have long nails, but you can always use some sort of tool to scrape a little up. 7/10
Longevity: I pair this with a primer but when I use it my eyeshadows usually stay vibrant and crease free all day long. 9/10
Application: Easily spreadable when dabbing with finger. 9/10
Texture: Slightly thick and tacky consistency is great for holding and intensifying eyeshadows. 9/10
This product comes in three colors, Skin Tone, White and White Pearl. Skin Tone is best suited for use with neutral eyeshadows, White will created added vibrancy to all shadows and White Pearl will created added vibrancy while also adding a pearl/shimmer effect. White is my favorite!

Hey guys! Some of you may have read on here a few weeks ago that I was going to start sharing my monthly favorites with all of you. At that time, I was planning on doing it in blog posts but then I made a YouTube channel and figured “Hey, why not just start with a video?” so that’s what I did! 😛
