NYX Matte Lipstick Swatches

Hey there! Today we’re back on the topic of NYX Matte Lipsticks. Since my last post on these lipsticks, I’ve added 4 more shades to my collection so I figured I should share my new NYX Matte Lipstick swatches with you!

If you haven’t seen my previous post on these lipsticks, you can click here to see a full review as well as swatches of Sweet Pink, Indie Flick, Euro Trash, Butter and Hippie Chic.¬†

In total, I’ve purchased 9 shades of the NYX Matte Lipstick formula so you can be sure that I really do love this formula! Although they’re called matte, I’d consider them more along the lines of “practically matte”. They are not completely matte but I think it works to their advantage as they’re pretty easy to wear. These lipsticks are comfortable, have awesome pigmentation and are very long wearing, especially the darker/more pigmented shades. It does seem like some of the lighter shades (i.e. Forbidden, Hippie Chic) have a bit of a drier formula as they tend to settle into lines and show off any dryness on your lips more so than the darker shades. All of the darker shades are golden though! They apply easily, are comfy and just go and go!

Anastasia Brow Powder Duo Swatches

The Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duos are a fantastic option for giving your brows a little life! These powders allow you to create defined yet natural looking brows with ease, are buildable and last really well throughout the day.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Pro Palette

Anastasia Beverly Hills was kind enough to send me the Brow Pro Palette which contains all 11 shades of the Brow Powder Duos plus a primer. Since I have every shade, I thought this would be a great opportunity to show them all off so everyone can see what they look like in comparison to all the other shades! The primer that comes with this palette is a nice addition. You apply this slightly waxy primer to your brows prior to using the powder and the primer helps your brows hold their shape as well as helps the powder adhere better. But fear not! If you do not have a primer, it is definitely not a necessity for these powders to provide great results for you as they perform really well on their own. In fact, I practically never bother with a brow primer.

Recent makeup looks!

Hey everyone! I just wanted to make a little post showing some of my recent makeup looks to maybe throw a little inspiration your way or showcase some products that you maybe didn’t know you needed yet! ūüėČ If you want to see my day to day looks more often, be sure to follow me on Instagram @SultrySuburbia.

Workin’ on my cut crease game lately! Seriously, I’ve had way more failed cut crease attempts than I’ve cared to admit but I think I’ve finally gotten the hang of them. For this look I used my Urban Decay Electric Palette, a few Makeup Geek Shadows and the Anastasia Waterproof Creme Color for my eyeliner. Lips are MAC Myth. Brows are Anastasia Dipbrow, as usual.

Sigma Beauty Swatches

In my previous post, I went into some details on the Sigma 3DHD Precision brush, the Sigma E55 & the Sigma E06 and now I’m back to share some swatches and thoughts of the Sigma Beauty makeup products that I received!

Lip Vex

Sigma Lip Vex All Heart

The Lip Vex¬†($10) that I received is in the shade All Heart which is a sheer chocolaty brown with a sort of mauvey undertone. On the lips it appeared as a sheer wash of natural color and boy did it SHINE! The finish was really glossy and beautiful. It had a slightly tacky yet not sticky consistency, was surprisingly moisturizing and smelled/tasted like vanilla cake. I don’t wear a lot of lip gloss just by itself so I’m no lip gloss connoisseur but I felt like the formula was pretty nice. ¬†Even after about 4 hours, although the gloss had indeed faded (I was also drinking & not with a straw) it was still definitely lingering on my lips. Even though I’m not a huge fan of only wearing gloss on my lips, I do love to add a little gloss on top of matte lipsticks to give them some shine or alter the color a little and I think this shade will be really nice¬†for giving some of my lipsticks a slightly more natural hue.

Sigma Blush in Heavenly

This beautiful peachy shade is called Heavenly ($12) and is my first Sigma blush that I’ve tried. When I swatched it I was immediately surprised by how soft and pigmented it was! While great pigmentation is normally a good thing, it makes me slightly nervous when it comes to blush because I’m always afraid of ending up with overly pigmented, patchy blush all over my pale cheeks but that didn’t happen here. This blush actually blended into the skin really easily and wasn’t at all patchy. I also feel like the color of this shade is just perfect and I’m sure it’ll be getting a lot of love from me. This blush, like most blushes, did fade a little throughout the day but was still noticeably there at the end of the day. Seriously a lovely product and a gorgeous shade.

Sigma Brushes Review

Hey guys! I recently became a Sigma Beauty affiliate and that is making me such a happy camper! Since I want to be open with you guys, me being a Sigma Beauty affiliate means that if you click on one of my affiliate links and then place¬†an order, I could receive a small commission on that sale, at no extra expense to you of course. If you don’t like that, you can always avoid my links and just head straight to the Sigma website to do your shopping.

If you’re in the market for some new products, be sure to use code “NOV2014” for 10% off your entire order!

So moving on! I got my very first Sigma brushes last Christmas when my husband surprised me with the Mrs. Bunny Travel Kit. I’ve been using these brushes pretty much daily since then and I really love them! They are all SO soft, have held up perfectly well and the E40 blends like a champ.

When I was told that I would be receiving a welcome gift, I was practically giddy with excitement waiting to see what lovely Sigma goodies were in store for me! I’ve loved their brushes for a while now but hadn’t had the chance to try out any of their makeup products before so I was super stoked when it arrived.¬†I’ve had this package for several days now but I wanted to wait until I could get a chance to actually use everything before sharing this post with you.

Sigma was kind enough to send me the Sigma E55 brush, the Sigma E06 brush, the Sigma 3DHD Precision brush, a Lip Vex, a powder blush, a gel eyeliner and samples of their highlighters in my welcome package so that I could try these things out!

Today I’m going to be discussing and reviewing the brushes with you and tomorrow I’ll be sharing the makeup products.

The brushes

While Sigma makes some lovely makeup products, they’re probably best known for their awesome brushes.

This brush is unlike any other brush I’ve ever seen. Not gonna lie, when I first got a look at the Sigma 3DHD Precision brush I was slightly perplexed and was just wondering “How is this going to benefit me?” because initially it just didn’t really look like it was going to be terribly useful. After¬†using it though, it actually turned out to be a really nice brush! It’s hard to show the shape of this brush in photos so I’m including this handy dandy tiny little video so you guys can get a better idea of how this brush looks.
